LeBron James is in the final year of his two-year, $101.3 million deal with the Lakers, and questions about his future continue to grow. On Saturday, former Lakers guard Nick Young weighed in, suggesting James could take a similar path to Kevin Durant.
In a clip posted on Instagram, Young reflected on James’ plans for the future.

In the video, Young shared his thoughts on James’ options for next season, joking that he should retire before suggesting a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“You know what I know what LeBron should do,” Young said. “For real? Retire. No let me stop. For real Bron, I’m telling you, go back to Cleveland man.”
Expanding on his stance, Young pointed to Kevin Durant’s career path as an example, using it to explain why he believes LeBron should consider a return to Cleveland.
“You need to go out there to Cleveland, look at what KD doing,” Young said. “KD is in the perfect situation where he can hide. You can hide your oldness. You cannot be the man at 40.”
Young urged James to follow KD as the forward joined a young Houston Rockets team this offseason. There, Durant has found huge success leading the team in scoring as he is surrounded by youthful, defensive-minded players like Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson.
Meanwhile, after missing a significant stretch of games earlier in the season, LeBron James is averaging a career-low 20.2 points per game. Furthermore, his role in Los Angeles is declining with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves being handed the reins.
Swaggy P’s comment, although bold and honest highlighted how James could elongate his stay in the NBA and keep his title hopes alive.

Nick Young didn’t stop with his comments about LeBron’s future. While discussing the Lakers’ championship outlook, he also took a swipe at the team’s core
“Luka, AR, and you (LeBron), that’s like imagine me at 24, and you see two caucasians and a 50-year-old out there,” Young said. “You ain’t got a chance, you see two caucasian a half fat skinyy, and another old one on the team, they ain’t got no chance.”
Despite Young’s comments, the Lakers remain one of the favorites to make the playoffs in the West and currently sit fourth with a 19-10 record.
