Days of Our Lives: Stephanie’s Terrifying Danger – Alex Caught in the Crossfire Too!!

Days of Our Lives hints that somebody seems to be targeting Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and possibly also Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson). But who is creeping around Salem trying to get at the hot new novelist and her hunky guy?

We’re going to talk about why Stephanie is not safe right now, and neither is her boyfriend, Alex. We have a lot to talk about.

Is Toxic Ex-Boyfriend Jeremy Horton Targeting Stephanie and Alex on Days of Our Lives?

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking. Isn’t it definitely Stephanie’s toxic ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan), who is stalking and targeting Stephanie and Alex? That seems the likely answer, right? Jeremy waded back into Salem earlier this fall, ready to start his new long-term substitute teaching gig at Salem Elementary.

The first thing when he hit Salem, Jeremy went and he tried to apologize to Stephanie. He brought a big old bouquet of flowers along that she ended up throwing in the trash. He apologized about their past bad interactions, including that pesky holding Stephanie’s head under the water in the hot tub thing.

Then we saw that Jeremy matched with Stephanie’s best friend, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu), on the Salem Singles app. But when he went out with Jada, she dropped Jeremy on the spot when she found out Jeremy was Stephanie’s ex. She had had enough of that overlap thing with Everett Lynch (Blake Berris), and that was before she even knew the dirt on Jeremy that she later got out of Stephanie. So Jeremy was angry, but all he did was throw a pumpkin on the ground outside the pub after Jada bailed out on him.

Stephanie & Alex Blame Jeremy on Days of Our Lives

Stephanie and Alex became certain that Jeremy’s the one who told Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) that Stephanie was really sexy novelist Anastasia Sands. However, it was not Jeremy who dropped the dime. It was EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), who was throwing Leo a bone to distract him from two things: one, from asking about the secret new lab space in the free clinic, and second, from probing into who shot EJ because he’s trying to keep his word and protect his niece, Rachel Black (Alice Halsey), who actually shot him.

All Signs Point to Jeremy on DOOL – Red Herring?

The same night that Stephanie unmasked herself as Anastasia Sands during the whole Salem Town Square Halloween thing, there was an attack that could have cost Alex’s life. He didn’t even know about it until later. Rachel and Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) were using Jeremy’s pumpkin catapult, aiming for Cat Green (AnnaLynne McCord) to make some mischief, but Alex stepped into the line of fire. It wasn’t Jeremy’s fault, but of course, Stephanie and Alex blamed him for leaving the science contraption unsupervised.

In the chaos, somebody who was wearing a lab coat that looked a lot like Jeremy’s scientist lab coat had slashed Alex’s coat. It seemed like a near miss on trying to stab him. Stephanie noticed that cut later. Now, somebody in black gloves with a book tour flyer with Stephanie’s photo on it put some unknown but obviously suspicious substance into Alex’s drink when it was sitting outside their door after the couple ordered takeout. So it’s clear that the Days of our Lives writers want us to think that the culprit is Jeremy But that’s too much of a direct line. It’s too easy. I don’t think so.

Unlikely Culprits on Days: Could Liam Selejko or a Resurrected Everett Be the Real Stalker?

If you remember, Liam Selejko (Hank Northrop), who is the troubled young criminal that Abe Carver (James Reynolds) is tutoring, was also wearing black gloves when he tried to steal Cat’s handbag in the park the other day. So, maybe Theo Carver’s (Tyler Joseph Andrews) high school bully also knew Stephanie or Alex years ago, and he’s got some beef with them. He’s a possible culprit.

Not a whole lot of Liam’s backstory has been revealed yet. We just know he’s a petty criminal out on parole and he was Theo’s bully back in high school. So Abe’s son isn’t thrilled that his dad is tutoring Liam. Maybe Cat’s would-be mugger is also messing with Stephanie and Alex. I think it’s kind of a long shot, but he did have the gloves, so he’s a possible candidate.

 Another Possible Suspect on DOOL

Some fans are also wondering whether Everett Lynch/Bobby Stein (Blake Berris) has returned from the grave to wreak havoc on his ex-girlfriend Stephanie and her current boyfriend, Alex. If you remember Bobby, he died, but that doesn’t mean anything because it’s Salem. He could be one of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) medical miracles.

They may have brought him back to life experimenting with some new procedure, just to be chaotic. If you think back to last year when Bobby died after Connie Viniski (Julie Dove) poisoned him, it appeared that he killed himself. The whole deal was Everett threatened to expose Connie’s dark secrets, and he could be back in Salem to mess with Stephanie and to mess with Alex.

A Frame-Up in Salem: Is Jeremy Horton a Scapegoat on Days of Our Lives?

But let’s circle back around to Jeremy for a minute. If he’s not involved with stalking Stephanie and Alex, who could be trying to set him up to look like the stalker, to look like he’s trying to hurt them? I wonder if it could be Jeremy’s old partner in crime, Jet Carver (Marcus Patrick). Although Abe’s nephew was undercover for the ISA, Jet lost his spy job when he broke cover to protect Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin). This is years back. She helped Jet (Marcus Patrick) get a job with Salem University’s security team with a bit of help from her mother, Billie Reed (Lisa Rinna).

As far as we know, even though we don’t see him, Jet is still around Salem. He could be harboring some resentment towards Jeremy and his former illegal activity because that ultimately ruined Jet’s career with the ISA. So, he may not really want to hurt Stephanie or Alex, and it could be that Jet may just be setting up Jeremy to go off to jail instead in retribution.

A Plot for Revenge on Days of Our Lives: Is Joy Wesley Behind the Attacks on Alex?

I can’t shake the feeling that somebody is trying really hard to set up Jeremy to take the fall for all the weirdness surrounding Stephanie and Alex that we’re seeing. He’s a very convenient scapegoat. Maybe he’s the villain, maybe he’s a scapegoat. The only moment of anger we’ve really seen from Jeremy was when he threw the pumpkin after Jada pulled the plug on their blind date and immediately sided with Stephanie.

He didn’t lash out at anybody. I think it was just a moment of frustration. Admittedly, Jeremy did some crappy stuff to Stephanie back in the day, but most of Salem, I would say all of Salem at one time or another, has done somebody dirty or tried to kill somebody or schemed against somebody or lied or cheated.

DOOL: Who is After Alex?

On the other hand, it seems whoever is currently targeting Alex and Stephanie may be trying to get Alex out of the way so they can get to Stephanie. One person I can think of off the top of my head who has a problem with Alex could be Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins). She left Salem pregnant with Alex’s unborn baby and lied about it to Stephanie and Alex. For whatever reason, Joy didn’t want them to know about her pregnancy. So maybe she has sent someone to spy on Alex. There’s that mysterious figure that had the knife and didn’t look like a pregnant woman about to give birth.

Maybe Joy has enlisted her nephew, Parker Jonas (last played by Christian Ganiere), to be part of her plot to find out what’s going on with Alex and mess with him and Stephanie. Parker is the son of Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and the late Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) if you don’t remember, who is also an older half-brother to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis). He currently lives in New York City, and that is where Joy went. So, I just suspect right now that Jeremy might be a convenient scapegoat and something bigger is at work.
