“Government failing its citizens” – Phil Mickelson reacts to 75% of Palisades fire victims reportedly living in temporary housing

Phil Mickelson’s opinions on trending matters have always been straightforward. Once again, the veteran golfer did not back away from speaking his mind regarding a report on the temporary housing status of the Palisades fire victims.

On January 7, the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Malibu, and Pasadena were destroyed by extensive fires that raged for weeks. Till the situation was contained at the end of January, the California wildfire burned around thousands of structures and took multiple lives.

On November 16, an X user named Eric Daugherty shared a report on his timeline, claiming that 75% of the Palisades fire victims were still living in temporary housing. He wrote:

“🚨 BREAKING: Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass are being SLAMMED after it was confirmed a whopping 75 PERCENT of Palisades fire victims still live in temporary housing. Absolutely horrendous. It’s been almost A FULL YEAR. Victims are furious. Other victims in temporary housing: Altadena: 67% Malibu: 43%…”

Phil Mickelson reposted Daugherty’s X post on his timeline and wrote in the caption:

“This is government failing its citizens 😔”

Phil Mickelson has been frequent with his criticism of California Governor Gavin Newsom and his policies regarding oil and gas. Besides challenging Newsom twice for a town hall debate on the issues regarding the Sable Offshore project, the golfer has accused the latter of committing national treason due to the dependence on Russian and Chinese tankers.

Days ago, when a large billboard was put up in California accusing Newsom of allegedly failing in his ‘accomplishments’, Lefty laughed in his X repost and admitted how it was not his idea, but he wished it was.

Phil Mickelson shares his take after Gavin Newsom got slammed for Crenshaw and South LA power outages

On November 9, Andrew Hart shared a video on X where he claimed that Crenshaw residents were left ‘fuming’ due to a power outage. The X-user further alleged that the widespread power outage in Crenshaw and South Los Angeles has led to the California Governor facing criticism.

The video was reposted by Phil Mickelson, and the 55-year-old revealed that he knew something of that sort was always going to happen. The LIV golfer wrote in the caption on X:

“Many have known this would happen but didn’t know when exactly it would start. It’s starting”

For those unaware, this is not the first time Mickelson has reacted to a situation regarding a widespread power outage. Earlier, the HyFlyers GC captain reacted to news of 10,000 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers facing a sudden power outage.
