“We Keep Swimming, Until We All Reach Home” by Photographer Jillian Guyette

A series of images exploring women’s intergenerational relationships by photographer Jillian Guyette. Raised in the Finger Lakes region of New York State by a psychic medium and a painter, Guyette received her BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work is born from a curiosity surrounding the nuances of familial and inherited histories, including her own esoteric upbringing:

“All of the eggs a woman will ever carry form in her ovaries while she is a four-month-old fetus in the womb of her mother, meaning our cellular life begins in the womb of our grandmother. This work explores the energy of that connection, alongside my ever evolving spiritual curiosity. Featuring an essay by acclaimed Fine Art photographer Elinor Carucci, and poems by New York Times bestselling author Kate Baer, this work offers an intimate yet expansive and collaborative exploration of lineage and belonging.”

“We Keep Swimming, Until We All Reach Home” will be released this month with Daylight Books.
