A beloved WWE star will be competing in his first singles match in 224 days tonight on RAW. This week’s show is the final episode of the red brand before Survivor Series 2025 and will air live from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio recently returned from injury and was in action during John Cena’s final RAW appearance last week. Mysterio teamed up with The Cenation Leader and Sheamus to defeat The Judgment Day in a 6-man tag team match.

Mysterio hasn’t competed in a singles match since his victory over Julius Creed on the April 14 edition of RAW. The legend will be in action tonight in a singles match against The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh.

Ilja Dragunov successfully defended the United States Championship against JD McDonagh this past Friday night on SmackDown. The veteran’s son, Dominik Mysterio, lost the Intercontinental Championship to John Cena earlier this month on WWE RAW. Dirty Dom and John Cena will be having a rematch for the title at Survivor Series 2025 this Saturday night.

Rey Mysterio suggests an interesting WWE retirement match against his son

Rey Mysterio pitched an interesting retirement match against Dominik Mysterio last year.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, the former champion was asked who he would want to face in his final match in WWE. The legend suggested his son and added that it could be a Hair vs. Mask match.

“That is a very good question, and [a] very hard one as well,” Rey Mysterio said. “I don’t think I have an opponent in mind, but if I had to put all my marbles on the line, I wouldn’t mind betting my mask against something big, something worth me winning for the very last time. I don’t know who that is. I mean, would Dom put his hair on the line? Mask versus hair? Why not? Yeah, that might be a great option.”

Rey Mysterio defeated his son in a singles match at WrestleMania 39. It will be interesting to see what the company has planned for the Hall of Famer in the weeks ahead.
