Gunther is one of the most aggressive superstars in WWE today. He is known for his loud, echoing chops and hard-hitting moves in the world of pro-wrestling. The Ring General has destroyed several top stars of WWE that including names like Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and even Cody Rhodes. However, there are a few AEW stars who have also faced the fka Walter in their careers.
The Austrian superstar has competed all across the world before making his WWE debut. Therefore, he has a long career, spanning almost 20 years. Many top names in AEW have gone toe-to-toe with The Ring General in the ring. While some of them managed to pick up a win, others were straight-up destroyed by the former World Heavyweight Champion.

#4. Roderick Strong
Roderick Strong has been actively performing in AEW lately. However, back in the day, when he was in WWE NXT, he faced The Ring General in a singles match. On January 8, 2022, the two stars clashed in an impressive match in the main event of an episode of NXT. Strong was on a mission to prove that he could stand the rage of Gunther, and he did for a while.
However, in the closing moments of the showdown, the Austrian star delivered a ruthless powerbomb to the former Undisputed ERA member in the center of the ring. It was enough to put down Roderick Strong, and he failed to defeat Gunther. That marked the only singles match between the two stars in their career. Besides, it was one of the last few notable matches of the AEW star before leaving WWE.

Adam Cole has had an incredible career in WWE before making his debut in AEW. In the initial stages of his career in the Stamford-based promotion, Cole faced a tough challenge in the form of Gunther (fka Walter). The former Undisputed ERA member faced The Ring General on EVOLVE on 24 June 2018 for the NXT North American Championship.
It was a historic match between the two stars, where Adam Cole managed to defeat the Austrian superstar after a hard-fought match. Despite his defeat, Gunther made a name for himself by taking the former WWE star to his limits. Following the match, the former TNT Champion expressed respect for the young Gunther for his amazing in-ring prowess at that time.

Keith Lee has been with AEW for the past few years. But before his debut in All Elite Wrestling and WWE, Lee faced Gunther in an iconic rivalry on EVOLVE and also PWG. The two stars delivered a memorable feud for the promotions in 2017, marking a pivotal chapter in their careers. They had two singles matches in their careers, and Keith Lee won both.
Their first singles showdown was on 2 September 2017 at PWG. After giving an incredible challenge, Lee managed to put down The Ring General in that match. Their next battle was on 9 December 2017 at EVOLVE 96, where The Limitless One once again defeated the Austrian powerhouse. Despite losing both the matches, fans remember the two battles as a neck-to-neck competition between two of the very best in pro-wrestling.
#1. Will Ospreay has faced the wrath of Gunther
Will Ospreay is one of the top faces of All Elite Wrestling. However, he has also faced the wrath of Gunther in his career. The two stars had two singles matches. The first one was in Defiant Wrestling on 26 August 2018. The Ariel Assassin gave a tough challenge to the former Intercontinental Champion in this match, but failed to pick up the win.
However, their first match made a lot of headlines on the internet in 2018. It led to their next match for OTT Wrestling on 13 October in the same year. Once again, the two stars delivered a show-stealing showdown filled with amazing spots and counters. But once again, after a valiant effort, Will Ospreay failed to defeat The Ring General, kicking off the era of dominance for the Austrian superstar.
