A series of daily and bodily experiences by lens-based artist Hasti Najafi. Born in Tehran, and currently studying fine arts in Zurich, Najafi’s practice involves experimenting with the objects and experiences of everyday life and exploring what remains hidden in the photographic image. “Not Like This, You Moron!” (2023-2024) focuses on the interplay between Najafi’s body, her surroundings, and how the two call the other’s existence into question. The images are an intimate manifestation of life—both familiar and unfamiliar—set in juxtaposition as a way of creating something new.
